Pain is Temporary

The song "Only Hope" is by a band called Switchfoot, but was made famous by Mandy Moore in the film "A Walk to Remember" in 2002.

There is something so powerful in having hope! Whether you are a believer or not, this song can speak to your inner being on many levels. ‘Only Hope’ is a prayer to song.

You may have been in a place of despair at some stage of your life.

I know I have.

Without getting all ‘doom and gloom’ about it, my place of despair was absolute rock bottom, to a point where I didn’t want to live anymore. It was so bad that over a weekend I’d gotten myself to such a place in my mind that I no longer wanted to live in this world. If it weren't for my parents who searched for the hotel I’d hidden myself in, I don’t know whether I’d still be here today. I think that I hoped they would find me too.

And they did find me, and to cut a long story short, I found God soon after, who is my ultimate source of strength, light and hope.

Whatever you are going through today, please just know that the pain is temporary. I know.

It’s never too late to get a life back, to love yourself again and to love others. There is always hope.

I’m a living testimony.
