Her distinctive appearance, and crystal clear vocals have made Samantha Landers a well-known singer in the South African music scene. She captures audiences with her sultry sounds and soulful, rich vocals. Singing a variety of styles from contemporary, musical theatre, and pop, to country, jazz, and RnB, Samantha can entertain any crowd, and capture any audience.

Born and raised in Durban, she began her music career at the age of twelve when she started classical singing training at school. Hungry to be involved in anything musical, she quickly auditioned for every choir and took up playing the piano and guitar. She trained for five days a week and very soon, was seen as the school soloist. She performed at weddings, corporate events, and in musical eisteddfods in England, Ireland, and Wales.

At seventeen, Samantha performed in the East Coast Radio Pop Princess Competition and this gained her critical acclaim in and around KZN. That same year she took part in the Young Performers’ production of Grease where she tried her hand at acting and dancing.

Although music is what drives her, Samantha is a keen academic and she attained her Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Media Studies, graduating Cum Laude from Rhodes University. She satisfied her love of the arts by joining the university choir, taking up ballroom dancing, and performing around Grahamstown. Upon her return home to Durban, she continued with her singing training, only this time, she studied Contemporary Voice.

With years of studying in both music and academics, Samantha now works as a respected vocal coach at The Waterfront Theatre School in Cape Town. She is the founder of acclaimed vocal studio Luminous - a business with a holistic approach to vocal training, where she coaches singers of all ages, from beginner to professional level. She is also a contributor to WR Contemporary Vocal Programme as well as as vocal consultant to Sing It Studios in Calgary.

Samantha is a well known performer in and around South Africa and she has appeared in a number of theatre shows such as ‘Sing It, Sista’, ‘Shaken, Not Stirred’, 'Poetry In Music', 'Unchained: The Fleetwood Mac Story', 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' and, more recently, the highly acclaimed 'That's Life', 'Tribute to the Carpenters', 'Some Enchanted Evening' and 'A Lot Like Christmas'.

Samantha has appeared in Musical Theatre productions 'Beauty And The Beast', as well as both Cabaret and Beyond Music Festivals, all under the direction of world renonwned Steven Stead. She also performs at high end corporate events and has been seen in extravaganzas like ‘Night of a Hundred Stars’, ‘Dolphins By Starlight’, and The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards.

Her live performances include the Vodacom Durban July, The Mr. Price Pro, Mrs Universe 2017, a number of year-end functions, awards evenings, and awareness events for associations like The Sunflower Fund and CANSA. She featured as a guest performer at the BRICS conference in Russia.

Samantha was one of three members of the acclaimed singing group MitzyGeorge. Known for their close, melodic harmonies, this all female group performed their beautiful, heart-felt shows in and around South Africa. They have two singles; I Am Home, followed by the fierce Tearing The Man Outta' You. She has also featured as vocalist on Veranda Panda's hit, Whistle Blow, as well as Aik Christo's, What I'm Waiting For.

Samantha spent time training in Sweden with world-renowned vocal coach to the stars, Seth Riggs. She currently trains with New Jersey based vocal coach, Jeff Alani Stanfill and has also completed her Voice Function 101 and Mechanics of Mix and Belt courses with Maddie Tarbox.
