“The Story” - My Story

Dear Friends,

“The Story” was written over 10 years ago, but was more recently made famous through the popular TV series Grey’s Anatomy in 2011. A song that I’m sure could be an anthem for most people, old, young, man, woman, black, white, rich, poor.

Our lives are made up of chapters and just like “Man in the Mirror” marks an introduction to my audio-biography, this marks chapter 1.

My story, like yours, is unique, a one-of-a-kind (roller coaster) of events – like this song. Your story makes up all those little pieces that shape who you are, just like your DNA.

This is why no one can ever really judge another person, because you don’t know what they may have been through, what hurt they may be carrying, why they are molded the way they are.

If you had met me in the early 20’s, you may not have recognized me. I was a different inner self, and my perception was enormously warped too! I carried lumps of hurt and anger, my “screw everyone” attitude caught up with me though, and I came to a crossroads where I had a choice. I could continue the path of detriment or I could face the pain head on and work through it all to become a better person. I chose the latter. Of course, the story is not over yet. And every day is a continual journey, but there are times where those forks in the road come, and your choice at that moment determines the rest of the chapters to come.

Every day is a choice too. You can wake up, function and get through the day, or you can choose to believe that something amazing will happen to you Every Single Day. Yes, life can get in the way and we all have ‘off’ days, but ultimately, we ALL have the same 24 hours in a day.
