Your song for the month of June.

This song has always been a favorite of mine. There is no literal connection for me, apart from the memories I made, while singing and performing in England. This was always a song I included in my repertoire and performances.

It takes me back to my 20’s and the hotels and restaurants I performed at in London and South England mostly, where I would set myself up with my keyboard, or baby grand (in one of the venues) and e...

Putting this 2 minute clip together was rather overwhelming, being that I had to edit 31 songs into that time frame! Wow. S, what exactly has happened in the last 32 weeks, or 8 months?

I have managed to stick to giving you a song a week.

I have a nearly 6 year old and nearly 1 year old, and managed to pull The Note Book off in the midst of their growing up too!

I've met some incredible people through this journey, and through shedding light on the storie...

Life is unpredictable.  The story of “Waitress” is relatable on many levels and this song really captures the complexities and hurdles of life.

The music is so simple that is makes it easier to focus on the impact of the words, and I’m sure any woman (and perhaps a lot of men too) can relate.

This song reminds us that we need to learn to forgive ourselves more than anything, when we look back on the past especially. I know I’ve had to redo this a few tim...

This song is a bittersweet one, and for reasons that I cannot divulge at this time. But SO appropriate for where I’m at in particular areas of my life right now.

Pink’s controversial ‘What About Us’ wakes us up, gets us asking questions, and gets us thinking.

Whether you see the meaning of the song from a political standpoint, or something pertaining to your personal or professional life, it gets us asking whether what we are doing (whatever this may be)...

Another Sondheim song, from "Follies", covered by numerous singers and performers.

I know I've been there, in my 20's I was involved in a relationship that was, to say the least, not healthy. It's when someone gets under your skin, and you think about that person constantly, and there is the added tone of sadness and hurt, because they have not been forthcoming with you.

But it is the unhealthy fondness for this relationship that leaves you wondering ho...

"So close your eyes, for thats a lovely way to be
Aware of things your heart alone was meant to see
The fundamental loneliness goes whenever two can dream a dream together
You can't deny, don't try to fight the rising sea
Don't fight the moon, the stars above and don't fight me
The fundamental loneliness goes whenever two can dream a dream together
When I saw you first the time was half past three,
When your eyes met mine it was eternity
By now we know...

I wrote this song in 2004, when I had recently met someone, and unbeknown to me they were already in a relationship themselves.

I obviously found out as the truth always comes out, and was beside myself at the time.

The song talks about not living in the truth, which has a new meaning to me now, but at the time it was so appropriate for the situation I found myself in. They were so far from reality and so was I. And so many people live like this. It must...

Having suffered from laryngitis for the last few weeks, I thought it appropriate to bring up something we don't always think about.

It's the beauty of silence.

So this week there is no song.

And just a reminder that silence is so powerful.

Silence in itself has extreme strength yet we ignore its importance.

It relieves pain and tension. While suffering, silence can work wonders.

After a hard day’s work we can seek a peaceful atmosphere to rest and spend som...

One of my favorite songs of all time!

This was Cyndi Lauper's first #1 hit. She had another US #1 in 1986 with "True Colors."

This song is about the reality of loving someone unconditionally, even when life and it’s challenges get in the way. It doesn't have to apply to romantic love alone, but any love between two people that lasts a life time.

It's about the encounters of love and how it presents itself over the course of time – that through life’s hurd...
